Diff Damage Photos

Photos of the damaged diff from Wakefield, was very worried i had broken the gearbox and wanted to wait to find out for sure as i have had enough of a run of bad luck with the car lately.

Shot of the diff plug kind of gives you a hint of things to come
It has taken some chunks out of the crown wheel which is no small feat
Basically the pinion gear has had a tooth or something sheared off and caused all of the damage

The Nismo 2 way has a different slope on the deceleration which is good to know maybe a 60/40 slope

Pulling the diff apart there is lots of shards of metal from the pinion gear throughout however none of the plates or center is damaged which is good. Needs a very good clean up though.

Stuart is going to play around with the pre-load on the plates and switch some around to lesson the amount of load the diff is on as basically it was originally set up to be on the most aggressive setting with the plates in the configuration they were in.

Feature went up yesterday on www.the-lowdown.com. Must say the whole thing was a lot of fun and i am really happy with how it turned out.

Unfortunately they missed the credits in the story but apparently it will be updated soon. There was a few ppl that i had tried to call out and thank them for there help over the years. There has been a few along the way and still many who do now.

Were also lucky to have a video created by the TITH Brothers of the shoot, they really have done a fantastic job.

Welding with Tig

Signed up for a Tafe course recently for Motorsport Welding, basically a course for beginners that covers the basics with Mig and Tig welding rather then stick and oxy etc and lets you have some practice.

Here is my attempt at welding a mild steel pipe onto a flat mild steel bar, i only got half way around the bar and ran out of time today but it was fun trying to do it and really hard to continue around the small pipe for a long distance.

Seat Rail - S15 Super Low Custom Design

Saw a nice really low set up for some custom seat rails in a S15 recently, was in the dark so pics are not the best but you can see them cut into the floor and braced against the tunnel.
